Visual Arts Curriculum
COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY
Our focus is to develop comprehension and use of the English language to hold a conversation and express their ideas. We encourage an appreciation of literature through the exploration of books.
COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
This area focuses on developing mathematical skills, shapes, colors among other concepts. We also develop critical thinking & problem solving skills as well scientific reasoning
MONTESSORI
Through the Practical Life curriculum, we encourage and develop independence and responsibility in our students through various hands on and engaging activities.
FINE MOTOR & PRE-WRITING SKILLS
The development of fine motor skills is important for little ones to be able to complete activities like manipulate small objects, getting dressed as well as feeding themselves. It is also important for preparing our students to become writers.
GROSS MOTOR SKILLS
Moving the body is important for moving from one place to another and for general health. Through diverse activities, we promote the development of muscles in the body.
SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The development of social & emotional skills is very important for this age group. We work alongside families to establish a connection & routines with students to encourage discipline based on respect and understanding.
DAILY LIFE SKILLS
We develop an understanding of daily life skills such as washing hands, eating independently, preparing food, among others, so that they can help with daily activities and take care of themselves.
CREATIVE ARTS
We understand that the creative arts are more than just painting. We include in our weekly schedule activities such as dance, music, cooking, creating prints and building with clay and boxes.
